- Someone has to run and maintain your own server
- GDPR responsibility with self-hosting lies with the own operation or hosting provider; Nextcloud GmbH does not sign a DPA because the company has no access to customer data
- Doesn't feel as thoroughly polished as Google's and Microsoft's equivalents
